Southern California to enjoy several rain-free days before the next storm Skies cleared over Southern California Thursday as a storm moved out and drier weather settled in, for now.“Some showers and mountain snow showers will linger over the area today, and some rain and snow showers are expected on the north through Friday morning,” the National Weather Service office in Los Angeles said. “Otherwise, dry and cool conditions are expected through Monday.”After that, however, more precipitation is in the forecast as yet another Pacific storm system moves into Southern California.The extended forecast for Los Angeles as of March 23, 2023, shows rain on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Southern California couple accused of intentionally causing car crashes posted on YouTube channel A San Bernardino County couple was arrested Wednesday and accused of intentionally causing car crashes that were posted on a YouTube channel.The suspects were identified as Christopher Phelps, 40, and his wife, Kimberly Phelps, 40, both from Yucaipa, according to the California Department of Insurance.The couple is accused of causing car collisions in an attempt to collect fraudulent insurance payouts, authorities said. A YouTube channel under the name “BLU3 GHO57" allegedly contained dashcam videos of crashes and road rage incidents connected to Christopher, authorities said. The channel had around 162 videos of “vehicle collisions, attempted or near collisions, road rage incidents, and other content involving the couple,” officials said.In several incidents, the couple’s child was also present in the vehicle, according to arrest documents.Investigators discovered around 23 collisions documented on the channel were linked to 17 insurance claims filed by Christopher. Antioch man charged with killing unborn baby during family stabbing spree ANTIOCH — The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office has filed a murder charge against a 37-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his pregnant wife and two kids, leading to the death of the woman’s unborn baby.The man, identified by authorities as Bartley Hall, was in Martinez county jail after his arrest last Saturday night in Cordelia, following a 30-mile pursuit into Solano County by law enforcement authorities.The victims, an 11-year-old girl, 14-year-old boy and 35-year-old woman, were taken to a hospital. Two of them were listed in critical condition and needed to be airlifted. (KRON) -- A Home Depot employee at the Hayward location was arrested for stealing from the store, California Highway Patrol said on Thursday. CHP executed a search warrant at the suspect's home and found about 600 stolen items and nearly $90,000 of cash. The Home Depot contacted the CHP's Golden Gate Division's Organized Retail Crime Task Force on March 1 about the thefts committed by a store employee. Over 25 lbs of marijuana recovered at traffic stop on I-880 in Hayward HAYWARD, Calif. (KRON) -- A driver in the East Bay was arrested for having more than the legal amount of marijuana. After a traffic violation on I-880, authorities conducted a traffic stop that led to the seizure of the drugs, California Highway Patrol of Hayward announced Thursday in a Facebook post.
