In their lone home preseason game of 2023-24, the Nuggets defeated the Chicago Bulls 116-102 on Sunday night at Ball Arena. Here are three takeaways from the win.NBA’s top two-man game? Officially backIn case it wasn’t enough that Nikola Jokic broke out the Sombor Shuffle on Denver’s first possession at Ball Arena since the Finals, he and Jamal Murray proceeded to remind an admirable preseason crowd of the magic they made here four months ago when the world was watching. This was almost an off night for them. Interim coach David Adelman wants to get the starters a breather in one of the remaining preseason games, but a hectic week of cross-country travel left him feeling as though the team was slightly behind, especially in terms of conditioning. So instead, the starters played into the second half for the first time. “This is kind of that practice that they missed,” Adelman said.Denver’s first 23 points were all scored or assisted by Jokic and/or ...

SACRAMENTO — Even without Steph Curry and Chris Paul, and playing in a game that means nothing in the standings, the Warriors and Sacramento Kings played some entertaining preseason basketball at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday night. The Warriors overcame a 15-point deficit in the third quarter to force overtime, then knocked off the Kings with a 121-115 victory to move to 3-0 in the preseason.Still, there’s little doubt that the Kings have something to prove after the Warriors eliminated them from the postseason in April. It was here at the Golden 1 Center that the Warriors won a crucial Game 5 in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, then laid an egg in Game 6 at home before going back to Sacramento and watching Curry score 50 points on their way to a series win.The Kings are back this season with a similar look, and the Domantas Sabonis-Da’Aaron Fox combination was on full display again on Sunday night in the Kings’ first home game since their postseason eliminat...

But our guy was really good, Monty, terrific job he did. And he got in a couple of jams there and found a way to get out of it.”In the ALCS for the first time since back-to-back appearances in 2010-11, the Rangers improved to 6-0 this postseason after sweeping the Rays in the Wild Card Series and the Orioles in the Division Series. The winning streak followed loses in their previous six p...

Buffalo Bills hang on — barely — in a 14-9 win over the New York Giants

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor’s pass into the end zone glanced off Darren Waller’s finger tips facing first-and-goal from the 1. New York got an extra chance after linebacker Terrel Bernard was flagged for defensive interference on a pass intended for Waller as time expired on third-and-5 from Buffalo’s 10 The Bills (4-2) hung on, but barely, in outing they overcame being shut out in the first half of a game for the first time since a mean-nothing 2019 season finale — a 13-6 loss to the New York Jets, in which Buffalo rested Allen an...
